A deal of purchasing the “Video International” company, the largest seller of TV advertisement on Russia, by National Media Group(NMG), possesses RenTV and Channel 5 is closed. As informed by the “AdIndex” agency.
According to the agency’s information the parties will officially announce the closed deal by the end of May 2010.
In meanwhile the agency outlined that the “Rossiya” bank, possesses “NMG”, and Video International have not given a confirmation of the deal, yet. Alexander Rodnyansky, the head of NMG’s council of experts refused to give any comments also.
Information about upcoming deal appeared in Mass Media on 9th of April. Nothing was said about amount and terms of the deal. It was known only that the mentioned bank is going to purchase 100% of shares of the “Video International” company.
The major shareholders of the Video International are several individuals: Vladimir Golubev, Oganes Sobolev, Sergey Vasiliev and Galina a widow of Yury Zapol.
“Video International” sells 60% of all TV advertisement in the country at present. The company’s main clients are Channel One, Russia-1, Russia-2, CTC and RenTV with Channel 5.
The Russian advertising market will change in 2011. The reason is approved amendments to the Law on Advertising in 2009, according to which a company is not allowed to possess more than 35% of the market.
